Direct deposit is one of the most-requested features made by YPN publishers, and I am pleased to say that this feature is now a reality.

Publishers can now enter their bank account details to receive their payments via direct deposit. Another great feature about it is that if there is a problem with your direct deposit payment, an alert will show up in your account control panel that there was a problem with your payment. This is nice so that if there is a problem, it doesn't enter this limbo phase where a publisher is unsure if it just hasn't arrived yet or if there was another reason why the payment wasn't successfully transfered.

Let’s see, the future of Yahoo is Social Media. Social Media is interactive user generated content such as tagging, blogs, MyWeb, user reviews, photo sharing, ratings, and perhaps even user generated mashups (I’m thinking that Ning is an obvious acquisition target) and, oh yes, Yahoo Answers.

You can really tell a contextual advertising network is growing when their quality control personel begin to ban questionable publishers. Barry @ Search Engine Roundtable points to some forum threads which conjer up memories of when Google AdSense began to grow and cut out publishers.

Yahoo has gained a lot of positive attention in the past week. And with increased attention on the eagerly anticipated Yahoo Publisher Network and a significant boost in quarterly revenue, the Internet giant reaffirms that it is still a force to be reckoned with.

Have you ever wished for someone to come along and compete with "Google's Adsense Program"? With the launch of "Yahoo's Publisher Network"(YPN) you could say that some wishes really do come true.

Yesterday I wrote an entry named Google AdSense Versus Yahoo! Publisher Network but I was not able to provide my own data in the comparison. But today, I am happy to announce that we are dynamically delivering AdSense and YPN ads. Most of you know that it is against the terms of service to have YPN & AdSense showing on the same page. The only legal way to test both AdSense & YPN against each other is to have them show randomly but not overlap each other. Through several forum posts, I heard this can be easily done using PHPAdsNew, which I currently use on this site anyway. So that means you can now take advantage of the site targeting option by Google AdSense to get your ads on this site.

Most people who have been able to compare YPN and AdSense on the same site have reached a similar conclusion; earnings per click (EPC) are much higher on YPN however click through rate (CTR) is lower resulting in similar revenues. I’ve experienced this as well so I set out to see how I might be able to raise my YPN CTR.

America Online seems to have become a cake everyone wants to eat. The company chief has clarified that they are not available for sale and there are no talks on with Microsoft. In addition to that, media has reported about possible Google and Comcast connection. If that was not enough, the latest news in reports that even Yahoo! has entered the fray. This is getting pretty interesting indeed.

This isn’t exactly breaking news anymore. I decided a while ago that one of my first posts on this blog would be about Yahoo’s new publisher network. Unfortunately it took longer than I expected to get this blog up and going. I’m sure that by now many of you are already familiar with YPN, but I thought I’d go ahead with this anyway as its hard to find a bigger web publishing news story than Yahoo getting into the Ad Network game.
